WINDOWS / DESKTOP

Build the composition. Keep control of the files.

A Windows mosaic app checklist for image libraries, tile matching, project recovery, and a dependable export.

Test a representative library

Use a small set with different image shapes and brightness levels. Include a difficult crop so the test reveals more than a perfect demo photograph.

Inspect repetition and tint

Compare the larger target with individual tile photographs. More detail in one can come at the expense of the other. Evaluate the actual saved output.

Plan the handoff

Include source images and a reference export when moving between machines. Test fonts, linked file paths, and application-specific effects before the deadline.

WORK WITH INTENTION

Make a recovery plan part of the workflow.

Save meaningful versions after selection, composition, and final styling. Confirm that the project opens again with its images intact. If an application offers only flattened exports, keep a layout note and organized source folder. A beautiful draft is more useful when you can return to it for a small correction.
